Grade 2 · Unit 8: Data representation and interpretation
Sort things into groups by what they have in common.

Sellers sort vegetables into piles. Each pile is a category. Sorting makes things easier to find and count.
To classify, choose a rule. Rule: Is it a fruit or a vegetable? Each item goes in one group.
A Carroll diagram sorts with two rules. Each number fits in one box. 12 is even and not less than 10.
Circles can overlap. Things that fit both rules go in the middle. An apple is red AND a fruit.
