Grade 2 · Unit 5: Using units of measurement
Bangladesh has six seasons!

In the monsoon, heavy rain falls almost every day. The monsoon is a season. Seasons come round every year.
A year has 12 months. January is the first; December is the last. Some months have 30 days, some 31, and February has 28 or 29.
The Bangla calendar has six seasons (ritu). Each season is about 2 months long. 6 seasons × 2 months = 12 months.
Pohela Boishakh, the Bangla New Year, is in April. Victory Day is in December. Which month is your birthday in?
10 years make a decade. 100 years make a century. Bangladesh became independent in 1971 – more than 5 decades ago. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries: from shortest to longest!
