How long does it take?
Some things take seconds, some take days.
Quick and slow
Blinking takes a moment. Eating lunch takes some minutes. How long something takes is its duration.
Minutes and hours
A minute is short. You can brush your teeth in 2 minutes. An hour is longer: 60 minutes. A school day lasts a few hours.
Days of the week
A week has 7 days. In Bangladesh the weekend is usually Friday and Saturday. The days are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Ordering events
We can put the events of a day in order. Morning comes before afternoon, and evening comes last. Which takes longest?
Months and birthdays
A year has 12 months. There are 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. Which month is your birthday? Pohela Boishakh is in April.
