Using materials

Why is a window made of glass?

What is it like?

Materials can be hard or soft. They can be rough or smooth. These are their properties.

The right material

A window is glass so we can see through it. A pillow is soft so it is comfy. A hammer is metal because it is strong.

Bendy materials

Fabric and rubber are flexible. They bend without breaking. That is why clothes are made of fabric.

Look closely at fabric

Fabric is made of tiny threads. Some fabrics feel smooth, like silk. Some feel rough, like a jute sack.

What I learnt
