Sorting materials

Group materials – and recycle them!

These pencils are sorted by colour.

Making groups

We can sort materials into groups. Ask a question: Is it metal? Put the yes things together and the no things together.

Sort by how they feel

Is it shiny? Is it soft? Is it bendy? You can test a material to find out.

Recycling

We can recycle materials. Old paper can become new paper. Plastic bottles can become new bottles. Recycling is good for the environment.
