All animals have babies. A cow has a calf. A hen has chicks. The babies grow up into adults.

A human mother usually has one baby at a time. A rabbit can have many young at once. A hen can hatch eight or more chicks.
Like their parents
A kitten grows into a cat. A puppy grows into a dog. Babies look like their parents, but smaller.
Babies need care
Many babies need their parents. Parents give them food, keep them warm and keep them safe.
