Every living thing lives in a place. This place is its environment. An owl lives in a tree. A fish lives in a river.
Food, water and a home
A good environment gives food. It gives water. It gives a safe home.
Animals near people
Cows, hens and goats live on a farm. A cat or a dog can live with us as a pet. Some animals live in a zoo.
Plants need places too
Plants grow in fields, gardens and pots. Some even grow in the cracks of a wall! Compare a sunny place and a dark place. Where do more plants grow?
