Alive or not alive?
How can we tell if something is alive?
Look around you
Look out of the window. You can see a mango tree, a crow and a cow. You can also see a rock and a bicycle. Some of these things are alive. Some are not.
Living things
Animals are living things. Plants are living things too. People are living things. You are alive!
What living things do
Living things need food and water. They grow bigger. They breathe. They have young, like a hen has chicks.
Non-living things
A rock is non-living. It has never been alive. The Sun is very hot, but it is not alive. A toy car can move, but it does not eat or grow. It is not alive.
What I learnt

- I know that plants and animals are living things.
- I know that living things need food and water, grow and have young.
