Grade 4 · Unit 5: Using units of measurement
Show events in order on a scale.

History is full of important dates. A timeline shows them in order. It also shows how far apart they are.
Each interval on this timeline is 10 years – a decade. The Language Movement was in 1952. Independence came 19 years later, in 1971.
Subtract the years to find the time between events. 2022 − 1971 = 51 years. Count up: 1971 → 2000 is 29, 2000 → 2022 is 22. 29 + 22 = 51.
Make a timeline of your own life. Choose a sensible scale. Label each event with a year.
