Above, below, next to, between.

We use words to say where things are. These words tell us the position. The book is on the shelf. The bag is under the table.
The sun is above the house. The plant is below the house. Above means higher. Below means lower.
The cat is next to the dog. The dog is between the cat and the rabbit. Between means in the middle.
Hold up your left hand – your thumb and finger make an L. The apple is on the left. The grapes are on the right. The banana is in the middle.
