Capacity

Which container holds more?

Water pots

A kolshi holds a lot of water. A cup holds a little. The amount a container can hold is its capacity.

Full and empty

When a jug is full, it cannot hold any more. When it is empty, there is nothing inside. It can also be half full.

Half full

This jug has water up to the middle. It is half full. It is also half empty!

Which holds more?

Fill a bottle and pour it into cups. It fills 6 cups. A jug fills 9 cups. The jug holds more. It has the bigger capacity.
