Solid shapes can roll, stack or slide.

A football, a box and a tin are solid. They are 3D shapes. You can hold them in your hands.
A cube is like a dice. A sphere is like a ball. A cylinder is like a tin. A cone is like an ice-cream cone.
A flat surface on a 3D shape is a face. A cube has 6 faces. They are all squares. A cylinder has 2 flat faces that are circles, and one curved surface.
Shapes with curved surfaces can roll. Shapes with flat faces can stack and slide. A cylinder can roll AND stack!
Draw round a cube: you get a square. Draw round the end of a cylinder: you get a circle. A pyramid has triangle faces. You can build 3D shapes with clay and sticks.
